Counter Terrorism Intelligence Analyst
“Working as a CTP Intelligence Analyst, the most rewarding part of my job is the sense of team-work. I involve my colleagues at every stage of the analytical process to share innovative ideas, challenge presumptions and collaboratively assess the wider CT threat picture.”
The Intelligence Analyst position is a key role in Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP), with responsibility for collating and analysing information from a wide variety of sources relating to suspected terrorist or extremist activities and producing tailored reports for a range of customers. Intelligence Analysts use a range of structured techniques to support both short term, tactical objectives and long term projection of threat.
Each analyst has the responsibility of owning and developing a thematic area of business which feeds into the overarching unit priorities and helps to drive direction and operational activity.
To become an Intelligence Analyst within CTP you will need an inquisitive mind, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and adaptability to respond to changing threat.
The role offers an opportunity to attend training in structured techniques and autonomy to develop each thematic area to deliver against agreed objectives.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, as is completion of IPP at this grade.
